Of all it is very easy to prepare onion chutney as it is just a matter of blending the ingredients. But most of us hate the bad breath after consuming raw onion. We feel uncomfortable to talk face to face with friends, colleagues etc. Still we can’t avoid onion chutney just for that silly reason. However we love to prepare it for two reasons
1) it is tasty and irresistible.
2) it is very easy to prepare it, a time saving delicacy.

In-fact it had just given my aunt new idea to prepare sautéed onion which is even tastier than the usual red onion chutney. Of course it is really easy to prepare, even teenage kids can prepare it and mm.....it’s so tasty.

|Tamarind||3 seeded, 1 no|
|Salt||enough to taste|
|Dried red chilli||4 nos|
|Water||½ 150ml cup|
|Curry leaves||7 nos|
warm ½ cup of water and soak tamarind in it. Chop onions and keep it aside.
heat a fry pan, add 3-4 drops of oil and fry the dried red chillies until they turn crisp.
to a blender, take onion, soaked tamarind (strain the water and take the piece of tamarind), salt, fried chillies, ¼ tsp asafoetida and blend it to a smooth paste. Keep it aside.
Heat a frying pan, pour oil, pop mustard. Add curry leaves and ¼ tsp asafoetida, add the onion paste to it immediately. Sauté the paste for1minute, stirring continuously. Hot, delicious, onion chutney is ready.
Stage 1- soak tamarind in hot water. Chop onions.
Stage 2- fry dried red chillies.
Stage 3- blend, onion, tamarind, chilli, salt, asafoetida to a smooth paste and keep it aside
Stage 4-heat frying pan, pour oil, pop mustard, fry asafoetida and curry leaves and add the paste to it, sauté well for 1 minute.
